Meet The Helpers | Lineworker: Crisis
Special | 1mVideo has Closed Captions
When something scary happens, Lineworkers help keep our power flowing.
Lineworkers fix broken power lines after a storm or other emergency and ensure buildings are safe to enter. If there is an outage, they work to turn the power back on as quickly and safely as possible. If a crisis has occurred in your community, reassure children that adults are working to keep them safe.

I AM VERY PROUD OF MY JOB BECAUSE I HELP KEEP YOU AROUND ELECTRICITY.
I AM A LINEWORKER.
SOME SCARY THINGS HAPPENED RECENTLY, BUT I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF GROWNUPS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WORKING TO KEEP YOU SAFE.
IN AN EMERGENCY, LINEWORKERS HELP IN MANY WAYS.
WE WORK TO TURN THE POWER BACK ON IN YOUR HOME OR SCHOOL AS QUICKLY AND SAFELY AS POSSIBLE.
WE FIX FALLEN WIRES OR BROKEN POLES.
AND WE HELP MAKE SURE HOMES AND BUILDINGS ARE SAFE TO ENTER AFTER AN EMERGENCY.
IF YOU SEE A FALLEN WIRE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, STAY AWAY AND ASK AN ADULT TO CALL THE POWER COMPANY.
A LINEWORKER LIKE ME WILL COME TO HELP.
SO WHAT'S MY JOB?
TO KEEP YOU SAFE!
