Dr. John C. Hitt is the longest serving president of the University of Central Florida. In Central Florida Legends, friends and colleagues help tell the story of how Hitt, during his 26-year tenure at UCF, transformed the school into one of the largest and most prominent universities in the U.S. Hitt became president of the university in 1992 and retired in June 2018.
